Cambridge Partnership
Rising to the Cambridge Challenge
The challenge from our point of view was to help Cambridgeshire Partnerships Ltd (CPL) demonstrate to the Government's Housing Corporation that it was the right partner to provide the affordable homes element of a major new housing development near Cambridge. Our client needed to show it had the skills and experience to create the infrastructure required to support successful, sustainable communities.

Who's that on the box?
Our own Simon Middleton, that's who. When 'Which?' magazine named and shamed the cartoon characters being used to promote unhealthy food and drinks to children, Simon was asked by Sky News to respond. And here's what he said...

Facts from the front line...
What's the latest from the wild and wonderful world of marketing and the media? Well, here are just a few of the stories that caught our eye this month at Turton Middleton.
Pre-School Branding
Not big news to parents of small kids, but branding is a potent force even among pre-school children. In fact, a new study of pre-schoolers in California shows that kids will even eat carrot sticks if they come in a McDonald's wrapper.
Carrot Sticks
Sweet smell of success
No doubt a multi-sensory approach to advertising could,
if done well, outperform one that appeals to just one sense. Indeed the Scent Marketing Institute believes that business will accordingly increase spending on
aroma-oriented advertising in the very near future. One current example is for Californian gas stations to spread the aroma of fresh coffee near the pumps in the hope that drivers will top up their caffeine intake as well as their tanks.
The rise and rise of the silver surfer
UK internet users aged 55+ are set to overtake 35-44 year olds as the demographic group with the largest representation online. So advertisers, ignore this group and the media they use at your peril!

Opportunity knocks...
We're snowed under with work and need some new faces to help dig us out. We're looking for experienced and talented individuals in all disciplines,
so if you fit the bill please give Simon or Steve a shout.

Final thought...

Branding the state of play in 2007
So, what's the state of brand management these days? In good shape? Healthy? Or does it even matter anymore?
